Jean-Jacques Bertrand manages the Cabinet BERTRAND & Partner, established in 1973.
For over 40 years, his activity is devoted exclusively to the practice of sports law and to the defense of actors of sport (athletes, coaches and players).
He's graduated from the University Panthéon-Assas (with a 'Certificate of Judicial Studies') and is registered at the Bars of Paris (FRANCE) and of Arizona (USA).
International Arbitrator (between 2002-2010) at CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport), he is a Member of the Arbitration Chamber of of the French National Olympic Committee. He is a member of the Board of directors of SLA (Sports Lawyers Association - USA) and is co-founder of AIAF (International Association of Lawyers in Football).
He is the author of a book called "The Sportsman and his agent." He regularly teaches at the Master of Sports Law of Aix-Marseille University and of the University of Burgundy.
In 1973, his first pledge was alongside the cyclist Jacques Anquetil in a litigation precursor for the time (early 70's) who opposed the five times winner of the Tour de France to French Tax administration (concerning the status of price money received in rallies. After this dispute, the professional cyclist (as well as any professional athlete) has been recognized by the Supreme Court as artist.
At the same time as the ANQUETIL case, Jean-Jacques Bertrand intervene in the first dispute between a professional football coach and his club. Lucien Leduc is opposed to Olympique Marseille, who had given his head coach position to the assistant coach as the professional team was poised to win the title of Champion of France. The Supreme Court will say that this unilateral contract modification by the employer was a breach of the employment contract. This will be the first of many other decisions consistently held and abundant now to protect coaches.

Christophe BERTRAND is a lawyer since 1998 and a partner of Cabinet BERTRAND since 2004.
His activity is dedicated exclusively to the practice of sports law and he assists several player and professional coaches. He is also the Council of sports unions, or sports groups.
He holds an International Business Law Master from the University Paris I (1994) and a Master of Civil and Commercial Law issued by the University Paris V (1995).
He is a member of the Jury of "Sports Law" specialization of the National Bar Council and of the Sports Law and New Professions Commissions of the Paris Bar.
He gives lectures at the Legal Professions Master of Sport of the University of Burgundy and is co-founder of the International Association of Lawyers of Football (AIAF).
In 2015, he co-founded the French Association of Sports Lawyers(AADSport), an association that aims to bring together sports lawyers to discuss the business and sports law practice, as well as its implementation in compliance with the ethical rules and basic principles of the legal profession.
Christophe Bertrand is since 2015 the President of AADSport.
Since 2013, Edmee LANGE is associate at BERTRAND sports law firm.
She is a member of the Federal Legal Commission of the French Federation of Baseball.
