The Bertrand Sports Law Firm in the Media

Sports Law Attorneys since 1973

Press articles, TV appearances, podcasts & video analyses
Since 1973, Bertrand Law Firm has been regularly sought out by the French and international press to analyze the latest developments in sports law: decisions of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), litigation involving FIFA, UEFA, CNOSF, and AFLD, international transfers, doping, athlete contracts, and disciplinary proceedings. Attorneys Jean-Jacques and Christophe BERTRAND contribute as recognizedexperts, at the request of both general-interest media (Le Figaro, SoFoot, ParisTurf) and leading legal publications (Le Monde du Droit, Décideurs Magazine).
Below you will find some of our press articles as well as our video appearances —television appearances, recorded interviews, and analyses published on our YouTube channel.

FAQ: Media : Contacting Bertrand Sports Law Firm (Paris - France)

How do I contact the firm for an interview, analysis, or media appearance?
All requests for media appearances—press interviews, television appearances, written analyses, radio appearances, or participation in a conference—must be submitted in writing via our contact form. Please specify in your message: the media outlet involved, the proposed topic, the date, and the desired format (written, audio, video, studio appearance, live or pre-recorded), as well as your professional contact information. We will respond as soon as possible.
In the event of an editorial emergency, you may contact the firm’s office directly by phone to assess the possibility of a rapid response. Phone numbers are available on our contact page.
On what topics does Bertrand Law Firm agree to comment?
In accordance with professional ethics, we comment exclusively on topics within our expertise: sports law in the broadest sense, its governing bodies (CAS, FIFA, UEFA, CNOSF, AFLD, federations, and leagues), its procedures (disciplinary, contractual, anti-doping, transfers), and current case law. However, as a matter of principle, we decline requests regarding legal matters that fall outside our exclusive practice.
Regarding ongoing cases or matters in which we represent parties, attorney-client privilege applies in full: we never publicly comment on an ongoing case, nor on the positions of our clients or those of their opponents. The analyses we provide to the media therefore always concern matters of principle, publicly released decisions, orregulatory developments in sports law.
Does the firm engage with the international press?
Yes. Our attorneys communicate in both French and English and regularly collaborate with the international legal press, particularly on matters involving the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, the FIFA system (Football Tribunal, DRC, PSC), or major international competitions. Requests from foreign media follow the same process as those from French media: please use the contact form and specify the desired language of publication.
Do the firm’s attorneys accept live television and radio appearances?
Yes, subject to availability and editorial relevance. Attorneys Jean-Jacques and Christophe BERTRAND regularly appear on television and radio, both live and pre-recorded, when the subject falls within their area of expertise and ethical requirements are met. For these time-sensitive formats, we recommend contacting the office directly by phone rather than using the written form.
How should the Bertrand Law Firm be properly cited in a publication?
The exact name is “Cabinet Bertrand” or, in full, “Cabinet Bertrand & Associés — Sports Law Attorneys.” The partners should be cited as follows: Jean-Jacques Bertrand, Esq., and Christophe Bertrand, Esq., both partners. The firm is based in Paris and has practiced exclusively in sports law since 1973. Biographical and institutional details can be verified on our About Us page or our Team page.
Requesting a statement, interview, or analysis?
We respond to all inquiries from journalists, editorial staff, producers, and conference organizers. Written requests should be submitted via our contact form; urgent inquiries may be directed by phone to the firm’s office.
